Field Day with Kylie
Field Day at school with Kylie was lots of fun. All of the kids seemed to have tons of fun!
They had face painting, lots of sports activities, a picinic, and I think the favorite...a water ballon fight! The kids thought that was great! My personal favorite it the plunger races. The looks on the kids faces is priceless!
While waiting their turn at the various activities the kids played on the playground. And of course Kylie is never one to shy away from the camera struck this pose for me. I love it, it's so full of life...so her.
One of the other things they did before the picinic was tie-dyed shirts. Each class wore a different color, I thought it was a great way for the teachers to be able to keep track of their classes. Kylie's 1st grade class wore purple. All of the t-shirts looked cute on the kids.
We have really enjoyed our time at this school. It's a little sad knowing this will be the last time we will see most of the kids. This is Kylie's teacher Ms. Frucci. She was a wonderful teacher with lots of patience. Kylie said the other day that she thought she was going to grow up and be 'just like Ms Frucci'. I asked her what she meant and she said 'you know, nice like her!' I thought this was such a sweet thing for her to say about her teacher, and I agree Ms Frucci you are a 'NICE' teacher!

Field Trip with Kylie
Kylie's school went on field trip to the Discovery Zone.
The kids all had so much fun!
Auntie Shayla came with us since she was in town to see Kylie's dance recital.
She, of course, loved the climbing wall.
Never afraid to strike a pose!
Love this one, it's so playful
Kylie and her friend Elle.
Auntie Shayla and Kylie, Kylie adores her...
They got to ride the carousel twice. This was my favorite horse...
And on the second time around she rode on it! Yay!

Skate-A-Rama
Today Kylie's school had a skating party. This was Kylie's first time on roller skates. Before we got there she told Daddy that she was "going to skate like Cinderella." Lets just say she tried really hard to make it happen. See for yourself!

Dr. Smith
Here is a conversation I had with Kylie today:
"Mommy know why Dr. Smith* is called Dr. Smith?"
(name changed to protect privacy)
"Why?"
"Because she always brings ice packs when you get hurt and that's what Doctors do!"
Dr. Smith is the principal at Kylie's school, and I did't have the heart to tell her is was wrong. I thought she put some great logic into her thought so I let her run with it!
In other school news, Kylie has been doing great in school. Everyday she gives me her status of whether or not she got her name on the board or not or if there were check marks involved. So far since school started I think she has only gotten a check mark once. At the very beginning she was getting her name on the board just about daily, but all last week (week 3) she didn't get her name on the board at all. When she does get her name on the board it is usually because she was talking....hmmm, wonder who she got her love of talking from.... :)
All in all she is doing great and loving school which is all that I was hoping for! Can't wait for parent teacher conferences to hear what her teacher, Ms. Laura* has to say.

Kindergarten Round-up
Last night Greg and I went to Kindergarten Round-up for Kylie. We were able to learn about what her day will entail and got a tour of the school. When we got there the principle asked Kylie if she would like to go with her to the Kindergarten room and to our surprise Kylie went! I really didn't expect that because Kylie is usually very shy around strangers. It really made it a lot easier to listen to the teacher and hear about the school (Lacey slept through the whole thing). When it was over we went to get Kylie thinking she would be wondering where we were, on the contrary, she did not want to go she was busy coloring a picture!
Its hard to believe that she is already old enough to start Kindergarten in the fall. From what I heard tonight Kylie is more than ready to go to school as far as her academics go. Just from going to preschool and learning from us she already knows a lot of what they will learn in the first half of the school year.
Her two biggest fears about going to kindergarten? The shots she needs to get (3) and the fact that her friends that she has now in preschool won't be there. I'm sure she will makes friends very quickly, she usually does.
