Spring Program

Kylie's school had their annual Spring Program on Wednesday. The theme was show caseing all of the childrens various talents. There were Magicians, a Comedian (shown in the picture below behind Kylie), hula hooping (my personal favorite), piano solos, and a group of girls danced to Justin Beiber's 'Baby' song. The dancers did great, and Kylie has been singing the song ever since.
Kylie's class sang 2 songs "Thanks For The Little Ones" and " Thanks A Lot". They did a great job. The whole program was very enjoyable to watch...we had a great time!

A reading from the letter of Paul to the Galatians

Today at school Kylie did the reading for Mass. She did a great job! We've practiced for 2 weeks and Greg and I couldn't be more proud of her.

Here is the text that she read, the audio isn't the best so it is a little hard to underdstand her:

The text:
A reading from the letter of Paul to the Galatians

Brothers and sisters:
All of you are Gods children because of your faith in Christ Jesus.
And when you were baptized,
It was as though you had put on Christ in the same way you put on new clothes.

Faith in Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other,
whether you are a Jew or a Greek,
a slave or a free person,
a man or a woman.

The word of the Lord.

Great job Kylie!!!!!

Playing Soccer

Here are some clips from the latest soccer game on Tuesday. She has really come a long way since the beginning of the season:

My favorite part is at the end, when she says "I got it!" and is so proud of herself!

Love the look on her face when the girl from the opposing team steals it from her :)

Swimming Update!

It's been a long time since I posted a swimming update about Kylie. She recently began to take private lessons, we have been so happy with our decision to go the private lesson route. I really wished we would have done it much sooner. The reason we made the decision to do the private lessons is we seen how Kylie thrived with the one on one attention in the pool and she's in the water for almost the entire 30 minute lesson versus the 10 total minutes she might have gotten in the classes. That depended on the class size.

Here are a couple of videos of her I took on Saturday at her lesson:

Here she is swimming with the float board

Here she is doing the elementary backstroke

T-Ball Game!

In addition to Soccer, Girl Scouts and swimming Kylie is also playing T-Ball this summer. Yes we are very busy between practices and games but it is so fun to watch her play. It also gives her a chance to try different things to see what she likes!
Here are a couple of videos from her T-Ball game today:

Dirt + Water = MUD!

Last night Kylie came in and told me Lacey got a hold of the her watering can and was playing in the dirt. Kylie told me she was trying to be nice and so she didn't take it away. I told that was fine, Kylie said OK, but Mom she is really dirty. I told that was Ok and I would take care of Lacey when she was done in the mud. Then it occured to Kylie to ask if she could play in the mud too, when I told her yes she was sooo excited!
What I failed to realize is exactly how dirty Lacey really was...
Doesn't she look oh so innocent in this one?

The full "effect"
"See Mama there's more on my hands too!"
And yes I was able to get her shirt white again, believe it or not!

Puddle Jumpin'

Have you ever heard of a kid that didn't like to jump, walk, run in the water? That is exactly what I let Kylie do last weekend after all the rain had stopped!
When she was riding her bike she noticed the all the puddles and casually mentioned to me, "Mommy you know there are lots of puddles around her and I haven't got to use my new bunny water boots."

So when we got home I told her to go and get her water boots on and we went Puddle Jumpin! She loved every minute of it and tried to make the biggest splashes she could.

I love her reflection in this picture!

Here is a slide show with the rest of the pictures that were taken...

Having fun with Nature

One of Kylie's favorite past times...

She was very upset with me when she found out the weed 'n' feed I put on the lawn was going to kill 'her pretty flowers'. She told me they are God's creations. Does it make you happy to kill God's creations? Whoa! Hadn't thought about it like that...but I still am glad we are down to minimal dandelions :) We will just have to go on another walk to find more, and that's alright by me!

Ridin' Bike

Kylie has been asking for the past couple of weeks if she could please go on a bike ride. So Sunday, when Lacey was taking one of her marathon naps (she took 2 3 1/2 hours naps last weekend) we did just that...she rode her bike around the block while I walked. She had lots of fun. Have you ever seen such a cute bike rider?
The beginning of the ride...
There she goes!

And she's off
I found a caterpiller on the road and Kylie just had to rescue it. Mommy can we take it home and put it in my bug house? If we leave it here it will get killed! So she got off her bike, put it in the front pouch and now it is in the bug house preparing to turn into a beautiful...moth.
She loves to catch caterpillers and watch them make their chrysalis and then emerge as a moth, and then she releases them and patiently waits for them to come back and 'visit' her! And we begin the hunt for another caterpiller...we watched at least 5 caterpillers complete the cycle and emerge as 4 moths and 1 monarch butterfly

Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!

Here are some pictures from Kylie's first soccer game. It was soooo cold out, it doesn't look like it in the pictures but believe me it was! I believe it was in the 40s with about a 20 mph wind!

Kylie had lots of fun and did a great job! We were very proud of her.
