Miss Katie's in the hospital

Sweet baby Katie has been hospitalized today with pneumonia and Type A influenza...
She is going to be on IV antibiotics and oral antibiotics. It took the nurse 4 attempts to start her IV. She only cried on the last attempt on even then only for a little bit. She is one tough cookie! Also they will be monitoring her oxygen to make sure her levels stay above 90%.

Her kitty is holding the oxygen she needs. At of now is only needs it blowing towards her face and not attached directly by it. Apparently this is called 'blow by oxygen'. I am learning a lot during this stay.

Here's her crib she will be sleeping in for at least tonight possibly 2 nights. I just want her to be comfortable. They are also testing her for RSV, in addition to the flu and pneumonia. So far she is stable, and that is the goal to keep her there.

Heaven received a beautiful angel today

Today my beautiful mother in law passed away. She was an amazing, beautiful, strong woman. I would not be where I am today without her. She helped me with my career and was a great resource for advice on life. She understood my oldest daughter better that I sometimes could.
My girls loved her beyond words, especially Kylie, Nana's first grandchild. They had a special bond all their own. Kylie is named after her Nana and grandma, and I don't think we could have done it any better. Kylie is in so many ways 'just like Nana'.

I am sad that she will not be around longer to see all 3 grow up. However I know she is watching them from heaven and is the BEST Guardian Angel they could ever have! I am thankful that our youngest daughter, Katie, got to 'meet' her Nana.
I personally believe Nana was waiting for that meeting. I know Greg and I will do our very best to tell each of the girls what a wonderful person Nana was.

She was so full of knowledge. If I could be half the person she was I will be a happy woman. It would have been 17 years in April that I have known her. It seemed like every time I had a question about anything she had some knowledge about it or knew where I could get more information.

I am so blessed to have been able to be loved by her. She never treated me as a 'daughter-in-law' she treated me as a DAUGHTER. I have always said I had the best Mother-In-Law a girl could ask for. Sure we had our share of disagreements over the years, but in the end we always laughed. She had an amazing smile that could light up a dark room. She always tried to look for the best in everyone.

Mama Dixie I love you and miss you. I can't wait to see you again... :)

Snowmen!

Look what Kylie and I made this weekend
It was so nice outside on Sunday that when the girls wanted to go outside I couldn't resist getting my snowpants on too! Kylie and I had lots of fun. We laughed so hard in our attempt to make this big snowman as big as possible. After we rolled the middle section for our snowman, it occured to me that there was now way we were going to be able to lift it, I guess I failed snowman building 101. As I was trying to figure out how I was going to get the middle section on, Kylie grabbed the inner tube in an attempt to be funny and put it on the snowman. It thought it was funny so it stayed!
Kylie made the face on our little snowman, I did the face on the BIG snowman. To compare the two, Kylie is taller than the little one. According to Kylie, the big snowman is Kylie and the little is Lacey.
This was the most fun I had in a long time. This definitely made me realize I need to make time to play with my girls. They are great kids, and I love them beyond what words can describe.

Look who lost her first teeth

Miss Kylie lost her first two teeth tonight! She was so brave, we were so proud of her.
She only had a couple of happy tears after the second tooth was pulled. Truth of the matter is, the first one was really ready to be pulled and the second tooth...not so much, but it was close. Mommy pulled the first one, and Daddy pulled the second one. We are so glad they are out especially since one of them already had a tooth coming in behind it.
She was so excited after it was over she could hardly go to sleep in anticipation of the tooth fairy coming! It was so fun to see her so excited. Let's just say the tooth fairy was very good to her. :)
