Lacey is 15 months!

Its hard to believe this little beauty is 15 months old already! She is a very busy and independant little girl. She goes from room to room, you don't usually have to wonder where she is...just look at the trial left behind and listen. You are sure to find her!

Her favorite words at the moment are: mama, mine, and no no no (while shaking her finger at you). She learned the no no no finger pointing from her daycare, I have to admit I thought it was cute the first time. Her favorite food right now is blueberries. Other foods she likes are strawberries, blackberries, grapes, apples, chicken, broccoli, green beans, peas, and carrots.

One of Lacey's favorite activities is to play in the bathtub with Kylie. Ususally every Sunday afternoon they take a bath and it is not uncommon for it to last at least an hour. The water is almost always cold when they decide its time to get out!

Lacey adores Kylie and the same can be said of Kylie towards Lacey. Their bond seems to grow everyday, it is beautiful. Not too long ago Greg and Kylie went to see Nana and Papa and every night they were gone Lacey spent the better part of the evening calling for Kylie and then again in the morning...so sweet.

Snow Play

Yesterday due to the snow storm that passed through our area all of us were home. I worked from home and Kylie and Lacey played.

I love this picture, even if my hair is a mess! :)

We had a great time out side. We played for quite a while. Lace was not a happy camper when we came in. I haven't seen her that mad in a very long time. big.huge.crocodile.tears.mad....

cutie pie

innocence.

I love the snow!!!!

Sliding down the slide is fun, but its even more when you can do it with your sister and land in the snow!

Referberation

"Mommy I would feel guilty if I didn't wear my socks"

Guilty? Why would you feel guilty? You don't even know what guilty means.

"Yes I do"

What does it mean?

"Referberation"

Referberation, what does that means?

*sigh* "Mommy you know what it means and don't act like you don't

All righty then....

Two hours later, "Kylie you don't really know what referberation means do you?"

"Nope, I just made it up!"

Ahhh, that's our Kylie always keeping us on our toes. And we love her so much for it!

Back-Seat driver

By now everyone who knows me knows about the "Envoy Incident". The other day Kylie and I were on way home from girl scouts there was a Semi next to us making a left turn (we were going straight). Normally this would not have even mattered to either one of us but since the "Envoy Incident" Kylie is very aware of Semi's. So as we're sitting at the light waiting for it to turn green, I hear from the back seat: "Uh Mommy you need to look out your window" I look over and see the truck and acknowledge the truck. Kylie says "Mommy you need to be careful in case he needs to turn". I had to reassure her the truck would be turing the other way and we were in now harm.
*******
Seperate day, we were on our way to gymnastics and just after we crossed the tracks I hear from the back seat "Mommy I looked both ways to make sure there were no trains comming" I told her I looked before I crossed and she says "Well I didn't see you so I did it so we could be safe!"

Obviously Greg has trained her very well on being safe in the car so much so that she is making sure I'm doing what I'm supposed to. It's a good thing...I guess :)
*****
On our way home after going through the drive-thru...

I had to unbuckle my seat belt for some reason or another and forgot to buckle it before I left the parking lot. Half way home I realize it and buckle it. This is what I hear from the back seat"

"Mommy you know it's not safe to drive with out your seat belt"

Yes I know I just forgot, I put it on as soon I as remembered it.

"Well it's not safe to take your hands off the steering wheel when you are driving, you should have stopped in a parking lot and then put it on"

At that point I just agreed with her, she was right and I couldn't agrue with her. My dad said she won't even need to read the rules of the road when she gets ready to drive because it appears as though she already knows them! Good job daddy for doing such a good job teaching her!

Kids Museum

My friend Jenny and I took our kids to visit the Curious Kids Museum. Everything in the museum is hands on. The only rule they have is that you put back what ever you take out. Sounds easy enough, here we go!

Kylie inside the big bubble. This was actually a lot harder to get a picture of her in it than I thought it would be because I thought I would be able to pull the handle stand back and take a picture. Wrong! I had to do everything fast I thought I could do this slowly, didn't work. Finally after it popping about a gazillion times before I could get a picture a very nice gentleman came over to us and offered to pull the handle to make the bubble so I could get my picture of her. Geez who would have thought it would be so difficult!

Lacey riding the tractor. The museum had a great area that was designed just for toddlers. It obviously had a farm theme to it and a nice gate so there was so accidental escapes. Nice touch! Lacey discovered that she could walk up a slide after seeing her sister do it. I actually couldn't believe my eyes when she was doing it and I was so worried about her falling I didn't dare leave her to get a picture of it, so you will just have to take my word for it.

Lacey's driving the ambulace that has Kylie being doctored in the back by her friend Natalie...

See! All better :)

Mommy and Kylie on TV. They had a very cute broadcasting exhibit. Kylie was able to DJ on the radio and tell the news and weather on TV. They also had a directors booth for the 'broadcast' that was in session.

The day ended with Kylie holding a Ball Python. I couldn't believe she actually did it. She was very reluctant when we first got there. Her friend Natalie on the other hand was not scared at all. The first time Kylie attempted to hold the snake it started moving and it 'creeped her out' as she politely put it. Then after we were done looking and playing with all the exhibits she wanted to go back downstairs to see all the reptiles again, they had a baby alligator, lots of frogs, a could of turtles, a caymen, and of course this snake. When we got downstairs the second time she decided to try it again only this time the snake was all curled up and didn't move. Much better, matter of fact the snake actually fell asleep ih her arms. She was very proud of that fact! See the head looking right at you!?

All in all it was very nice day, the kids had lots of and I think us Mom's did too!

Lacey's 1 Year doctors appointment

Today I took Lacey to her 1 year doctors appointment. Everything went great she weighs 23 pounds 4 ounces and was 29.5 inches long. She is in the 75 percentile for both weight and height. She has gained exactly 2 pounds 5 ounces and grown 2 inches since her last appointment.

They tried again to draw blood for an iron and still could not get it. She was NOT a happy camper about this at all. It really didn't help that she didn't nap long enough at daycare and that she was hungry. We'll try again at her 15 month appointment.

Other than that she the appointment went great! She is at or above all the of the 1 year milestones. We couldn't be more proud of her, she is such a beautiful blessing in our lives.

Lacey's 1 Year Pictures

Here are some of the pictures Lacey had taken for her 1 year birthday. She did a great job, although I have to say it is much easier to get pictures taken of little one before they are mobile and have their own agenda...

This is the I'm otta her picture. She meant it too there were no others taken after this one because she absolutly refused to take any more, read: she kicked and screamed everytime I brought her back for more.

Lacey's Birthday Party

We celbrated Lacey's birthday yesterday. It was a small celebration, Mommy, Daddy, Kylie and of course, the guest of honor Lacey! She seemed to enjoy herself, loved her piece of cake that big sister Kylie decorated for her, and really liked all of her gifts.

I made the cake, Kylie helped me put the marshmellows around the bottom and then she decorated Lacey's very own piece. Kylie was very proud of her decorating and so was Lacey!

Lacey is One Today!

This was our sweet little girl one year ago today...
Birth
3 Months

9 Months

1 Year!

Lacey it is hard to believe that a year has passed since we first met. It has been a wonderful year with you in our lives, you have brought us more happiness than we could have ever imagined, God has truely blessed us. You went from a helpless infant to a dertermined little girl. You always seem to have places to go and things to do. You make us laugh everyday, I think you are going to be quite the little comedian, you love scrunch up your nose and make funny faces. You love to be tickeled and have the most contagious laugh.

In one short year you have learned how to walk, talk, laugh, and feed yourself (albeit messy). As far a eating there isn't much you won't eat, so far the only thing I have discoverd you don't like is cottage cheese (although I don't blame you) and you LOVE, LOVE, LOVE blueberries. you can't seem to get enough of them.

Nana affectionally named you baby Taz. And I have to say once I heard the name I had to agree that name definatly fits you. You are a busy little bee, and on most days Mommy can tell where you have been because there is usually at trail of 'stuff' all over the place. So far you are not afraid of the dark or strangers, you absolutly love other kids and you always seem to be smiling!

Kylie loves having a sister in her life and you really adore her. It is beautiful watching you two play. You love playing with all of Kylie's toys, always trying to do whatever Kylie is doing. I'm not sure you have figured out yet that you are much smaller than she is, and if you have you sure don't let it slow you down.

Today on your birthday we are going to do things pretty low key. We are going to go to yours and Kylie's swimming lessons and then go see Santa! Who knew having a birthday this time of year would give you that kind of an opportunity. We'll see how you like Mr. Claus, mommy plans on getting some pictures of the moment. Daddy unfortunatly has to work so we are going to celebrate your birthday with daddy tomorrow .

You are a beautiful little girl and Mommy and Daddy will love you unconditionally forever. You light up our lives, we are so grateful and blessed to have you as our daughter.

Happy 1st Birthday Sweetheart!

Sign of the times?

Serious work...

Taking a break for 'just a minute' Hi Mommy!!!
