Healthworks!

The girls and I went to a local kids museum on the first day of spring break. It's very a fun place, it's all about your health, and has lots of interactive exhibits. The girls had a great time, we spent almost 3 hours and I'm pretty sure they tried to do everything in the museum! Kylie had been there before when she was in preschool so she had an idea of what to expect.

This eye ball really freaked Lacey out, she would only look at it from afar. Kylie tried to encourage her to look at it by going up to it but Lacey was not convinced.
They had a plastic chair that was filled with lot of used cigarette butts, it was really gross at the smoking and lung exhibit.

Kylie's reason not to smoke....
Dr. Norton hard at work performing a surgery. Look at the concentration, even her tongue is sticking out!

Dr. Norton successfully removed her patients heart!
Her assistant Lacey removed the patients leg bone.
The girls playing shadow soccer. Your shadow is what makes the balls move, much harder than it looks!
Lacey's attempt at keeping up with the lights on the floor. Pretty difficult when you are just under 3 feet tall!
Kylie had lots of fun climbing the 'skin' wall.
At the supermarket, then Lacey went to the garden 'pick' her vegetables.
This picture speaks for itself :-)
Scientist Kylie discovering a new molecular structure.
Puzzles!
At the dentist!
Balance!
Lacey's turn!
And finally they ended their day by coloring a picture. Funny enough they both picked the same picture to color without even knowing it!
All in all it was a great day at the museum! What I love about this place is it isn't huge so when you take more than one kid they have a little freedom to roam without Mom hovering over them. Kylie loved that she was able to have that little bit of freedom, made her feel independent.

Kylie and Nana

My wonderful husband dedicated this video and song to our daughter Kylie who was so deeply hurt from the loss of her Nana (his Mother). Nana will always love you and I will be there to help and love you too. I wont let go!

Kylie and Nana had a very special bond. Kylie shares so many of Nana's personality traits, it is beautiful.

At the Zoo!

Lions and
Tigers and
Bears Oh my!

This is the Red Panda

On my last day off before I have to go back to work I took the girls to the Zoo. The Zoo in our town is small and doesn't have a huge amount of animals, but there are still enough animals to have an enjoyable day. The girls had a great time. Kylie was slighting disappointed that the petting zoo, pony rides, and the butterfly exhibit was closed until Memorial Day. I promised her we would go back when they all opened. I know Lacey would enjoy all of those things too.

This is the Playful Otter's exhibit. It is a new exhibit for this Zoo. They are so much fun to watch, seems like they never stop playing.
I thought the Tamarin's were cute, they were cleaning each other's backs.

It was quite warm outside, I believe the temperature got up to 84 degrees. It was one degree below the record high. Pretty warm for this area in April. It was great!

We had a great day, even Katie enjoyed the outdoors. She was so good, she was just amazed at all the surroundings, very cute.

Kylie's First Song

Today Kylie wrote a song for her Nana. We are so proud of her, she wrote the entire song all by herself and then together her and Daddy added the music. It turned out great!

She definitely got her Daddy's genes when it comes to music. She has been struggling with Nana's passing and I personally believe this is an excellent creative outlet for her to express her feelings. Nana would be so proud of her girl :)

Two months Pictures and Doctor Appointment

Here are Katie's pictures from she had taken on Friday. She did such a great job! We are so lucky to have kids that like the camera. The large picture and the picture just above the pink picture in the corner were my choices for the packages I bought. All of the pictures on the this page were my favorites but I limited myself to only two packages :)
Katie had her two month well child visit today, she did so good. She is 13 pounds 6 ounces, 24 inches long, and her head circumference was 16 inches. She was in the 90th percentile for her height and weight and the 50th-75th percentile for her head circumference. I looked at the doctor and said 'Are you sure she's my child, 90th percentile for length?!" Wonder if she will stay on the tall side, wouldn't that be nice for her. I always wanted to be taller.

She has to see an opthamologist because her left eye is slightly crossed and her doctor wanted to make sure if there is anything we need to do to correct it, it gets done as early as possible. I agree, earlier the better.

All in all she had a great doctor appointment. She received 3 shots and only fussed for a minute. By the time I picked her up she was done! She is a tough little girl.

Mommy and Me

Today Katie and I had our pictures taken together. With each of the girls I have taken a Mommy and me picture all of them when they were 2 months old.

It was quite funny at the beginning of getting our pictures taken because the photographer was tying to get Katie to look at her and all she would do is look at me and smile. It was so darn cute!
Eventually she did look up at we got some great pictures of the two of us and of her individually. I'll post them tomorrow. She did a really great job, the photographer was really impressed with how well she was smiling already.

I had my picture taken with my mother at around the same age and I'm so glad to have it. I hope my girls cherish their picture with me and much as I cherish mine with my mom. :)

She's the adorable LITTLE SISTER!

Fun with my sisters!

Kylie and Lacey love to play with Katie. Kylie is constantly asking to hold her so she can play and talk with her.

l
Lacey is beyond thrilled when Katie smiles at her. She gets all excited and says 'Mommy, Katie 'miled' at me!" And if she just happens to coo at Lacey, Lacey is over the moon. She says 'Mommy her likes me!"
Kylie is absolutely convinced that she has taught Katie how to kick her feet and move her arms in the air. The first time it happened couldn't believe she could 'learn' so fast!
It's so much fun to watch the ways Kylie and Lacey play with Katie. And Katie gets so excited to see either of them, her eyes light up when they come near her. It's beautiful!

Two months Old!

It's hard to believe Katie is already 2 months old.
She is a happy, smiley baby. She loves her sister's so much. Her eye light up when she sees them. She is a joy to be around, we have been blessed.

Big News!

It has been exactly a week since we started potty training Lacey. She is doing awesome! I am so grateful/lucky to have kids that potty train so easy. From the very first day she seemed to take to it like she's been doing it forever. She has at the most one accident a day. We are so proud of her.

It's nice to know that I will only have to buy diapers for one! If I had known she would train so easy I would have done it MUCH earlier. :)

Great job Lacey, Mommy and Daddy are proud of you!

Miss Katie's follow-up X-Ray

So today I took Katie back to the Doctor for a follow-up chest x-ray, and it was CLEAR! It's amazing to me the difference ONE week makes. Dr C showed me last weeks x-ray and it was terrible. I'm actually pretty glad he didn't show it to me at the time it would have scared the heck out of me! Somethings are best unknown. :)

So thankful for a great Doctor and the hospital staff that took such great care of us.

Miss Katie's follow-up appointment

Today I took Katie to see Dr. C for her post discharge appointment, and guess what!? Not only did Katie have pneumonia, type A influenza but she also tested positive for RSV too! Dr. C said he is amazed that at six weeks old and having everything she had that she didn't end up having to stay longer in the hospital I'm just glad that it was caught early.

We have to go back on Monday for a chest x-ray. Dr. C would like the radiologist to compare the two x-rays and hopefully we will see major improvement. I can tell just by how she sounds she is a lot better than she was last Monday. She still has a bad cough but the nurse at the hospital told me she would probably have it for quite a while. Poor baby...

Aaand were outaa here!

This is picture perfect, and also the reason we are outta here! Miss Katie's oxygen level has stayed above 90% (the 100 is her oxygen level) for the last 24 hours without any help from additional oxygen. The nurse only suctioned out her nose once (which she very much hates) so Dr. C said he feels confident that Katie is ready to go home.

I will be taking her back for a follow-up appointment on Friday and hopefully get good news. We are still waiting on the results from the RSV test that was done on Monday. Hopefully Dr. C will have the results on Friday.

Miss Katie's in the hospital, day 2

The doctor stopped by this morning at 5:45 am. Yes, 5:45 am. Normally, that would have annoyed me had I not already been up since Katie didn't sleep well at all last night. She got up this morning at 4:30 and stayed up until 7:00! Dr. C says we will be staying at least one more night just to make sure she remains stable. She only needed her oxygen once last night, so the Dr. is very encouraged by that.

Hopefully we will be able to go home tomorrow. Greg and Aunt Neo need to go back to my in law's town for my beautiful mother in law's Celebration of Life on Thursday. I believe Kylie will be going with them, Lacey and I will stay at home with Katie since she will be too sick to make the 5 hour trim.

Greg and Aunt Neo are taking care of the other 2 girls at home. Kylie is at school and Lacey is enjoying some Aunt Neo time :)
