At the Rodeo
We went to the Rodeo! Kylie loved it, the only thing she didn't approve of is the calf roping. I got to say I agree with her, that is my least favorite part too.
Lacey liked all the 'neigh neighs'. She did very well, the rodeo started at 7pm and ended at 10pm. So the evening definatley ran well into her bedtime but she was a real trooper! They had intermission half way through so we went and got more to drink, Lacey got some popcorn (her favorite) and Kylie secured some cotton candy and a cowgirl hat. I think she looks so darn cute in it.
After the Rodeo Kylie talked me into letting them go on a couple of rides. Lacey really seemed to enjoy the 'helicopter ride' and kept waving to Kylie the whole time. Of course she isn't old enough to go on any by herself so I went with her.
I've always wanted to be in one of those 'Wild West Old Time Photos', however I've never managed to do it. So, I asked Kylie if she was interested and she was! What do you think?

The Cast...has been removed
This morning the whole family went to the Doctors office with Lacey toget her cast removed. i was hopeful that her foot was healed and that she would not have to have the cast replaced. Thankfully after they removed the cast and did xrays her foot is healed to the point she doesn't need to have it in a cast anymore. Yay!!!
She did absolutly wonderful. I fully expected her to freak out when they removed the cast. However she didn't even fuss! She kept saying over and over again 'all done, all done' long before it was done but that was the extent of the fussing. When the cast came off she jumped off the chair and started heading for the doon 'comen mommy' (come on mommy) was all she could say. I was told to expect that it would take a couple of days for her to start walking properly, however she was off and running down the hall the minute the opportunity presented itself!
She took her first 'real' bath tonight and was in her abolute glory to be able to be in the tub without the plastic bag. She hated the bag and freaked out when I tried to give her a bath with it on. After her bath you could just tell how refreshed she felt! She was dancing and singing, so cute!
She has to go back for a six week check and then after that she is in the clear!

So Special
The other day Kylie and I were talking about how special she is to Daddy and I. I told her one of the reasons is because it is because of her I became a Mommy and Daddy became a Daddy. She thought that was pretty cool..."really?" she said.
Then she looked at me ever so innocently and said "Mommy know why Lacey is so special?"
Why?
"Because when she was born she made me a big sister, if she weren't here I would not be a big sister! Know why the new baby is going to be so special?"
Why?
"Because the new baby will make Lacey a big sister too!"
I thought this was so beautiful, she makes me so proud to me her mother.

The Cast
After calling all over town I found out that our town does not have a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon. I called our family doctor to get a recommendation since I do not have a clue on who I should bring Lacey to see. The nurse called back suggested a Dr and when she called the Orthopedic Surgeons office they recommended taking her to a podiatrist since it is a foot injury.
To the podiatrist we went! After waiting 2 hours past our appointment schedule we finally got into see him. He looked at her foot, pressed on the injured area, then looked at x-rays from the Express Care Clinic and then he confirmed that yes in fact her foot was fractured. Although when he was looking at it you would have never know that it was hurt, when he pressed on the injured area she didn't even flinch and she was walking on it without the cast while he was looking at the xrays!
The Dr. decided it was a must that she get a hard cast put on it since she obviously was not going to let her injury slow her down. She has to wear the cast for 2 weeks, so on July 22nd we will go in, have an xray to confirm a healed foot, remove the cast and hopefully we will be on our way!

Our Unforgettable 4th of July
Our 4th of July will be one we won't forget for quite sometime. You see Lacey and Kylie were playing on some playground equipment at the campground and Lacey tried to be like big sister and reach for the monkey bars. One tiny problem, she reached them and then fell down. When she fell down she hurt her foot pretty badly. It was obvious almost immediatly something had happened.
When she was trying to get up her right leg was shaking so badly that she kept falling down. I was sure that I would see a broken bone of some kind either from her leg or her foot. Thankfully I didn't see anything. I carried her back to the camper where Nana and I looked at her and both of us couldn't see anything wrong at first. So Nana went back to her house got an ace bandage to wrap her leg and foot. During the time Nana was gone Kylie, Lacey, and myself went to the pool. At that time Lacey was limping on her foot and not really complaining very much at all. After swimming Nana wrapped Lacey's foot after she was able to determine it was her foot that was bothering Lacey and not her leg.
Lacey took a nap and after her nap she wouldn't put any pressure at all on her her foot and started crying 'Owie' out of the blue. We all decided that she should probably go to the doctor to have it checked out. Uncle Chris and Auntie Charissa took Lacy and I to an Express care clinic in town. It was x-rayed (thank you Chris and Charissa for being ther for Lacey) and determined that she had fracture her foot. They said they had never see a foot fracture on someone so young! Leave it to Lacey!
They put a soft cast on her foot and told me I needed to get her to a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon within the next 1-2 days. The Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon's job will be to make sure the bones heal properly. So I will be making an appoinment as soon as I can to get into the Doctor and we'll see what he/she says the next step is....

Rodeo Fun
We went to the Rodeo! Kylie loved it, the only thing she didn't approve of is the calf roping. I got to say I agree with her, that is my least favorite part too.
Of course the clown, he was actuallypretty funny most of the time. Lacey did NOT like him though, when he came close to the fence she took off AWAY from him.
Kylie liked the bucking horses, she though they were pretty cool! I didn't get a picture of the bulls, but she was equally intrigued by them too. She told Daddy they were real bulls and they werr big!
Who can forget the awesome trick rider! She was great, riding 2 horses at the same time barefoot, too cool!
