Precious Little One

She was sitting watching Kylie's first t-ball practice of the season when I took this. It was hot and she was tired.

I love how this picture turned out.

1st T-Ball Practice

So far so good! She did a great job at her first practice and seemed to have fun. One of her comments was, "I don't want to go to practice, I just want to play the game!" Sorry sweetheart it doesn't work that way :)

Her first game is this weekend, last weeks game was cancelled due to rain. However it is supposed to rain again this weekend, maybe the weather man will be wrong?

Democrats

Today on our way home from the store Kylie says to me:
"Mom sometimes I just act like a Democrat"
"Really, what how does a Demorcat act?"
"Naughty."

Then later on she says:
"And Mom sometimes I tell jokes like a Democrat too"
"What kind of joke to Democrats tell?"
"Bad and terrible ones"

I think it is safe to say she obviously has a strong opinion of how she feels about how she perceives the democratic party. How at 5 years old can she see what other still don't get...I know she's a smart kid :)

OxiClean

While we were at the store Kylie talked me into buy her some Blueberry-Pomegranate-Grape juice. I agreed but told her not to spill on her school shirt (or any other shirt for that matter) because it would probably ruin the shirt forever.

Last night she wanted to try the juice I bought her, she loved it! When Lacey saw her drinking the juice she decided that she should have some of that juice too, well of course she cannot drink out of a bottle very well and naturally she got some on her shirt.

Kylie saw this and the first thing she said is "you should get some of that OxiClean stuff on it 'cause it takes out tough stains, and that is a tough stain!"

I asked her how she even knew what OxyClean was or even what it did and her answer? "I saw it on a commercial!"

I should have known that was going to be her answer because we call her the commercial queen in our house. Greg loves commercials too, but I think Kylie gets the prize for being able to remember exactly was the item they are advertising does. We will be doing something and out of nowhere, she will start telling me about something she saw on TV and what it does.

She tried to talk me into buy her the touch n brush, the hands free tooth paste dispenser because then I wouldn't have to worry about her making a mess with her tooth paste. This one can be bought in WalMart and every time she see its she keeps trying to convince me this is something we should have. Gotta give her credit for her persistence!

Some of the others she's found intriguing enough to tell about are: the perfect brownie because then it would be fair because everyone would get the same size piece; Pancake Puff because "I love pancakes and look at all the other stuff you can make in it Mom!"; and the Snuggie, this one we actually have and I really like it too!

Those are the ones I can remember, what about you what "As Seen On TV" stuff have you tried?

Coloring Easter Eggs

We colored Easter eggs today! Kylie had lots of fun, especially when Daddy showed her how to make the eggs 2 different colors!

Lacey on the other hand tried to color them. She put the egg in the dye, took the egg out, and prompty licked it. Ltes just say she did not appreciate the taste of it...vinegar

She instead decided that it was more fun to color...everything she could, including her face. She apparently need to see what the marker tasted like, thank goodness for non-toxic markers! :)

All in all a great time was had by both of them, in their own ways of course!

My family and I have been personally affected by this illness, my brother is affected by it. There is a lot of information about this illness at the following sites. I would encourage everyone to educate themselves about this illness so we can all be empowered. Knowledge is power.

Black and White Wednsday: Future Astronomer?

This is my first time participating in Black and White Wednesday. I thought this would be a great entry. I love this picture...future astronomer??? Yes, it is a tripod but if just glance at the picture I think it kind of looks like a telescope... ;)

Easter Egg Hunting 2010

On Saturday I took Kylie and Lacey to a local church for their annual easter egg hunt. It's more of a pick up all the eggs you can from the grass as fast as you can than a 'hunt', the kids love it. We were suprised to see some kids we know, a from Kylie's girl scouts, and a boy from her Kindergarten class!

I can't believe I actually got a picture of them together, its tough these days because Lacey is go, go go!

Lacey was so excited she got this ONE egg, that is all she cared about. The rest she picked up was icing on the cake. She loved it, it was all I could do to hold her while the announcer told the kids the rules of the hunt. Of course she didn't care about the rules she just wanted the EGG!

Kylie was very intense about her hunting...

Kylie, now a seasoned Easter egg hunter has learned to be fast. She filled up her bag and then worked on filling up Lacey's too! She did a great job!

They tried teamwork...
however as you can see Lacey didn't really see the need to put them in a bag. She just picked and ran!

They had a great time, although I was cold I don't even think either one of them noticed the cold. It seems like they are oblivious to the temperature! I know Lacey will be ready for next year now that she knows what egg hunting is all about!

The Park

Lacey loves to swing and Kylie likes to push her, it a great combination!
